The Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) presented yesterday, coinciding with the inauguration of the academic year 2010-2011, the book "Seminario analítico sobre la casuística actual del derecho concursal” (Analytical seminar on the current casuistry of insolvency law), with the conclusions of the meetings on the subject held on the 4th to the 6th of last June. The presentation was made by academician José Juan Pintó Ruiz, President of the Fourth Section of the RACEF and coordinator of the seminar.
The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF), Jaime Gil Aluja, participates in the third edition of the World Policy Conference (WPC), which will be opened today in Marrakech by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. Completing the Spanish delegation were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, former Minister and former Commissioner for Competition of the European Union Joaquín Almunia, and journalist Xavier Vidal Folch, President of the World Editors Forum.

The President of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciencies of Spain (RACEF), Jaime Gil Aluja, stressed the importance of scientific input in the Mediterranean area in the construction of a unified Europe in the ninth annual International Seminar "Thinking Europe", organized by RACEF, which this year was held in Bucharest last August and 9 October.
Camilo Prado Freire, Full Member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) and director of Pan-Hispanic Dictionary of Economics and Finance, died this morning at his home Madrid at age 66 after being overtaken by a severe disease. Prado was currently as Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid.
Born in Lugo on 1944, Prado began his career as a chartered accountant, although his interest in economics studies led him to graduate and doctorate in Economics and Finance.
Isidro Fainé, Full Academic and Auditor of the Royal Academy of Economics and Financial Sciencies of Spain and Chairman of the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks, said that the renovation of the Spanish financial system and the current legal framework "guarantee at least two centuries of living for Spanish savings banks". Fainé held this view in an interview yesterday published the newspaper "La Vanguardia".
