The President of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciencies of Spain (RACEF), Jaime Gil Aluja, stressed the importance of scientific input in the Mediterranean area in the construction of a unified Europe in the ninth annual International Seminar "Thinking Europe", organized by RACEF, which this year was held in Bucharest last August and 9 October.

The sessions also included the Full Member of RACEF and Academic Chairman of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Catalonia José Casajuana, which impacted on the urgency of a construction policy for the continent, and also Full Academic José Antonio Redondo, who participated in debates. It also had a prominent role for France Corresponding Member and Director of the French Institute of International Relations Thierry de Montbrial.
