The RACEF presents the conclusions of its Seminar on Insolvency Law

The Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) presented yesterday, coinciding with the inauguration of the academic year 2010-2011, the book "Seminario analítico sobre la casuística actual del derecho concursal” (Analytical seminar on the current casuistry of insolvency law), with the conclusions of the meetings on the subject held on the 4th to the 6th of last June. The presentation was made by academician José Juan Pintó Ruiz, President of the Fourth Section of the RACEF and coordinator of the seminar.

The work includes presentations by academician Luis Usón Duch, the Corresponding Member for the Basque Country Fernando Gómez Martín and specialist lawyers on Insolvency Law Sebastián Sastre Papiol and Juan Carlos Noguera de Erquiaga. The speakers discussed the insolvency reform approved in Spain by Royal Decree 3/2009 and, following the increase in the number of cases of insolvency, agree in denouncing the lack of resourcing. Likewise they feel that the reform has a beneficial effect on public credit, but does not solve the current situation of the problems encountered by many small and medium businesses.
