The Nobel Prize Winner for Economics Robert J. Aumann next November 10 will inaugurate the new Academic Year of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) during which the corresponding academician for Israel will be inducted.
Juan Hortalà, academician of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) and President of the Barcelona Stock Exchange, has been appointed President of the Latin American Federation of Stock Exchanges (FIAB). The FIAB is formed by 21 Latin American Stock Exchanges and its objective is to promote cooperation among its members.
The President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia Herzegovina and ex-President of this Serbo-Bosnian republic, Rajko Kuzmanovic, this afternoon became a Member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras as Foreign Member. In his acceptance speech, the new Member reported on the interference of the High Commission of the UN in the legal system and Constitution of his country. The reply was made by Academician and Secretary of the Racef, Alfredo Rocafort Nicolau.
The Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) and the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska of Bosnia-Herzegovina this afternoon, in Banja Luka, held a joint working session under the subject heading of “The Role of the Academic World in the Society of the Future”. Participating were eminent scientists from both academies who analysed the society of the future in a very wide range of subjects such as the challenge of the academic world, innovation, the biological survival of a nation, the digital gap, and the role of legal science, among other matters.
The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras (RACEF) Jaime Gil Aluja; its Vice-President Lorenzo Gascón and sculptor Artur Aldomà, this afternoon in Barcelona presented the future Francisco Cabarrús prize which will be awarded annually by the RACEF to the economist, businessman or most outstanding actor in Spanish economy and finances. The prize is represented by means of a small statue, designed by Aldomà, of the figure of the founder, in 1782 of the Banco de San Carlos, the first Spanish national bank and the forerunner of the Banco de España. The work is inspired by the portrait that Francisco de Goya painted of Francisco Cabarrús, which is hanging in the headquarters of the Banco de España in Madrid.
