His Excellency Dr. Ramon Poch Torres, Full Member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras and Librarian of this Royal Corporation, was distinguished with the Prize for 2008 for excellence in his professional career by the Associació Catalana de Comptabilitat i Direcció (Accid). Dr. Poch received the award during the celebration of the III Congress of Accounting and Management.
The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras (Racef), His Excellency Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja, and Academy Members His Excellency Dr Ricardo Fornesa and His Excellency Dr. José Barea, analysed the current scenario of crisis at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) where they participated in a meeting on “The Current Economic Situation” organised by the Faculty of Economics and Business Management.
The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras (Racef) Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja today, in the Senate proposed a new contribution of public funds in order for banks and savings banks to face up to the second wave of the lack of liquidity due to the increase in defaults and the drawing up of new plans to serve as a stimulus to small and medium sized businesses. Likewise, Gil Aluja, urged the Government to facilitate the reduction of the Spanish financial system in order for it to have a dimension that is more in line with the actual requirements of the productive system and he also made a recommendation that serious training policies are the best way for Spanish society to overcome the current cycle of change without any social fracture.
The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras (Racef), His Excellency Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja, today in Podgorica (Montenegrro) called for a model of research that is committed to society and led by universities and academic institutions, during a meeting of European Academies organised by the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Baroness Delruelle, Janine Delruelle-Ghobert, officer of the Royal Court of Belgium and magistrate of the Constitutional Court of her country where she was also a member of parliament and senate; in her acceptance speech, after mentioning the differences between states that are governed by a single chamber system and those that maintain the two house system, Delruelle defended the latter model, both for its “effective legislative control function” that is exercised by the upper houses as well as for their territorial representation in federal states.
