The Royal Academy of Economics and Financial Sciences of Spain (RACEF) and the Finnish Institute of International Affairs held  this morning a joint Solemn Academic Act under the subject heading of “Governing European Economies. The financial crisis and its challenges”. The Session was held in the Auditorium of the Bank of Finland (Helsinki) and counted on outstanding participations from both Institutions.

Teija Tiilikainen, President of the Finnish Institute for International Affairs and Jaime Gil Aluja President of the RACEF gave the welcoming speeches to those attending in the name of their respective Institutions. Participating at the Session were Alexander Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland; Ricardo Díez Hochleitner Academician of the RACEF and Honorary President of the Club of Rome; Sixten Korkman, Managing Director of the Research Institute for the Finnish Economy; Seppo Honkapohja Director of the Bank of Finland; Joan-Francesc Pont Clemente Academician of the RACEF, and Sirkka Hämäläinen, ex Governor of the Bank of Finland and Foreign Corresponding Academician for Finland of the RACEF.
