Ángel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), has warned this afternoon in Barcelona on the risk involved mismatches competitiveness within the European Union for economic and social progress. To Gurría, "many EU countries must undertake major structural reforms to correct these imbalances and overcome the crisis".

The secretary general of the OECD has admitted this afternoon at the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) as Corresponding Academician to Mexico during a solemn session chaired by the Minister of Economy of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Andreu Mas-Colell. On behalf of the RACEF has responded the Full Academiacian Francesc Granell.
