José María Gil-Robles, President of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe, will enter as Full Academician in the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) next October 23 during a Solemn Session that opened the Academic Year 2013-2014.

The new member will read the speech "La financiación de la Unión Europea" (the funding from the European Union). Will respond on behalf of the RACEF its Vice President, Lorenzo Gacon. The event will take place in the auditorium of the Palau Macaya of the Obra Social de La Caixa (passeig Sant Joan, 108, Barcelona) at 19.30 h.

Born in Madrid in 1935, José María Gil-Robles Gil-Delgado is a lawyer by training and served as counsel for the Parliament before beginning a long political career that took him to the European Parliament, an institution that presided between 1994 and 1999.
