Isidro Fainé, academician of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF), was distinguished by Fomento del Trabajo (Spanish employer's association) as Businessman of the Year awarding him the Medal of Honour in recognition of his key role in the process of restructuring the savings bank sector and for being responsible for the reorganisation of the la Caixa group and the birth of CaixaBank, the third in ranking of Spanish banks.

Juan Hortalà, academician of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) and President of the Barcelona Stock Exchange, has been appointed President of the Latin American Federation of Stock Exchanges (FIAB). The FIAB is formed by 21 Latin American Stock Exchanges and its objective is to promote cooperation among its members.
The President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia Herzegovina and ex-President of this Serbo-Bosnian republic, Rajko Kuzmanovic, this afternoon became a Member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras as Foreign Member. In his acceptance speech, the new Member reported on the interference of the High Commission of the UN in the legal system and Constitution of his country. The Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) and the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska of Bosnia-Herzegovina this afternoon, in Banja Luka, held a joint working session under the subject heading of “The Role of the Academic World in the Society of the Future”. Participating were eminent scientists from both academies who analysed the society of the future in a very wide range of subjects such as the challenge of the academic world, innovation, the biological survival of a nation, the digital gap, and the role of legal science, among other matters.
