Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He is Director of two Journals: a scientific publication, “Encuentros Multidisciplinares” and the other international and of a more technical nature, “Revista Iberoamericana de Contabilidad de Gestión”. Between 1989 and 1991 he was Professor at the University of León. He is a founding member and current President of Transparency International-Spain. He is member of the Royal Academy of Economics and Finance. He is the author of fourteen books and over a hundred and fifty articles in national and international publications. His books include: “A Macrocontable modeling of Energy”, “The system of Management and Activity-based costing”, “Accounting VAT Guide”, “The company and its economic environment in the Perestroika”, “The integral dimension of Firm”, “Interpretation of Financial Statements”, “Latin American Code Accounting and Auditing”, “Financial Accounting” and “Business Performance: A proposed analysis and assessment”. He belongs to the Editorial board or other five Journals, and has participated as an evaluator of articles in diverse publications. It is since 1988 Chairman of the Committee of Management Accounting of AECA. He has served on the Scientific Committee and presented numerous papers and communications in national and international conferences. He has directed and/or participated in numerous studies and research projects as a member of several national and international academic associations. He has received awards including the Prize of the Instituto de Planificación Contable for the best article published (1979), the UAM Alumni Award (2010), or ACCID Academic Excellence Award (2014). He is or has been a member of various associations and civil organizations as the Association for European Integration (AIE) or ACNUR. Has organized and/or participated in numerous meetings, conferences, events and working groups of multidisciplinary nature. He was Chairman of the Budget Control Committee of the League of Professional Football. He has been coordinator of the Forum for Coexistence and Fundamentalisms (UAM-Ateneo de Madrid). He is a member of the Board of the Association for Interreligious Dialogue.
