Lorenzo Gascón, vice-President oh the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF), has been designated by the World Academy of Art and Science as new Academician for his long career in research and business and his leadership of economic, political and social institutions.

Doctor honoris causa from the Universities of Michoacán (Mexico) and Lishui (PRC), is also Academician of the International Academy of Management. Among the most prominent awards received are the Gran Cruz de la Real Orden del Mérito Civil, the Encomienda de Número de la Real Orden del Mérito Civil, the Encomienda de la Orden de Isabel la Católica, the Creu de Sant Jordi of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Medalla Francesc Macià al Mérito en el Trabajo, the Medalla de Oro de la Fira de Barcelona and the US Peace C. Award.
