The President of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF), Jaime Gil Aluja, participates in the third edition of the World Policy Conference (WPC), which will be opened today in Marrakech by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. Completing the Spanish delegation were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, former Minister and former Commissioner for Competition of the European Union Joaquín Almunia, and journalist Xavier Vidal Folch, President of the World Editors Forum.

The conference will serve to reflect, from a multidisciplinary field, on the challenges facing humanity in the near future: climate change, economic globalization, energy resources or cyberspace, among other debates. Among the participants are Jean-Claude Trichet, European Central Bank President; José Ángel Córdova Villalobos, Minister for Health of Mexico; Samuel Pinheiro Guimarães, Minister for Strategic Affairs of Brazil, and Christophe de Margerie, President and CEO of Total, among other prominent figures in politics and business from the five continents. The meeting will be presided over by President and Founder of the World Policy Conference and the French Institute of International Relations Thierry de Montbrial, Corresponding Member of the RACEF for France.
