His Excellency Dr. Ramón Trías FargasCurriculum Vitae
(Olot, Girona, 1942). Professor of Economic Theory at the University of Barcelona. He studied economics and law at the University of Barcelona and got one’s PhD with Honours. Graduated in foreign universities and PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, he is a member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras and the European Mathematical Society. In the academic field, he has been Dean of the Faculty of Economics and has taken different positions at the University of Barcelona and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. He has written some books, papers and articles about his specialty, which has been published in national and international magazines, and has led forty-six dissertations. Currently he is the editor of the magazine Cuadernos de Economía and member of the Advisory Council of the Autonomous University of Madrid. In the political sector, he has held some executive and representative institutional charges. He has been city councillor of Barcelona, member of the Parliament and Minister of Industry and Energy of the Catalan government. In his professional life, he has been business adviser in some public and private companies. Nowadays, is the counselor of Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB), BME Spanish Exchanges and Sociedad de Bolsas and president of Barcelona Stock Exchange.
